Sherbet Grant Makes Recipient "Happy"

A very grateful recipient of a recent Sherbet grant told the charity's trustees that Sherbet made his Christmas after being awarded a grant of carpets for his home.

The man, who cannot be named for confidentiality reasons, had met the charity's criteria of being adversely affected by enforcement action.

As a result of physical and mental challenges he had lost his job and was unable to work. His family moved back in with him just before Christmas following a family estrangement, and the man just wanted some carpet so that his grandson could crawl around on soft flooring.

Within days of receiving an online application, the Sherbet trustees were able to apply the charity's criteria to award the man enough money to buy some carpet from Carpetright. The man was able to choose the carpet he needed up to a budget of £600, and once it was chosen the charity's administrator organised payment and delivery.

The final comment from the recipient was that he felt something he hadn't felt for a long time, which was summed up in one simple word: "Happy"!
