Shergroup is a company with its roots in the past but focusing firmly on the future. Led by Chief Executive, Claire Sandbrook, (named one of the Top 100 Credit Industry Personalities in 2008), Shergroup is dedicated to offering a variety of outsourced business services to clients across the world.

The company has more than 100 staff in the UK and India, and its success has led to a significant increase in turnover to £7 million in 2007. The Shergroup TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) prides itself on the team’s excellent reputation, credibility and expertise which businesses, government departments, credit managers, lending institutions and accountants look for when employing someone to enforce County Court or High Court Judgments, or delivering other services.

History of Shergroup

The company dates back to 1780 and was formerly known as Burchell and Ruston. It is the sixth oldest law firm in the UK and is the only enforcement firm in the top 200 law firms.

We changed our name to Shergroup in 2004 after the changes in High Court enforcement which transferred responsibility from the High Sheriffs of England and Wales, to individual High Court Enforcement Officers appointed by the Lord Chancellor under the direction of the Ministry of Justice (see Link to Ministry of Justice Enforcement Pages).

Claire, as CEO, is a qualified Solicitor and author of many books on enforcing judgments. Rather uniquely she was the first ever woman Under Sheriff of a county, being Surrey, holding the position for seven years until 2005.

Shergroup is managed by a Senior Management Team with expertise in enforcement, security, IT and business process outsourcing.

Shergroup has offices in Essex, England, and Noida, India.
